Mr. Blake wasn't really interested in sleeping a whole lot but you'd never guess it looking at his pictures! Isn't he just the cutest little guy?

Over the last year I've been working away and planning to add this new option available for photographers. Although not necessarily a new service, I've finally had the time to sit down and make it official!

Mentoring is now available from Amy Clarke Photography!

This exciting opportunity is available for aspiring newborn photographers who wish to learn the art of newborn posing through a one-on-one hands-on experience.

I have plenty of teaching experience and during a mentoring session I take you through the entire newborn photo shoot from start to finish allowing you every opportunity to learn and ask questions.

Colton was a slightly older newborn at just over a month old when he came to the studio for his photo shoot (he surprised Mom & Dad and made an early appearance) but that didn't stop him from sleeping and letting me pose him like a brand new baby!

Sometimes you get lucky and older babies will sleep great, sometimes they just want to be awake and alert - but then again, some of the most wide awake babies I've photographed have been under a week of age! You just never know how your little bundle will sleep the day of their session; they're always changing and surprising us!

Colton's Dad is a pilot and wanted to incorporate his jacket/wings into a few photos. I just loved this shot:

Such a beautiful baby girl! Grace came to visit me with her big sister (who I also photographed as a newborn) for her first big photo shoot! Although Grace didn't want to do a lot of sleeping during her session we still got some perfectly adorable shots!

Raelynn is such an adorable little one! She arrived quite a bit earlier than expected and was still just teeny tiny for her photos even though she was a month old... and she slept just as well as any of the brand new babies I photograph!

We're 3 years old!

I can't believe I'm already in my 4th year of photographing Thunder Bay's Bellies and Babies!

I meant to post this a few months ago but since I was off on maternity leave I figured I should wait until I was back to work!

While I was off I was trying to think of what I could do for our 3rd birthday (each year I've had a different special offer) and I decided that although the chances of triplets being born this year might be slim I would still like to offer a FREE newborn session including digital package to the parents of a trio of babies!

Spread the word! My assistant for multiples is up for the challenge! (I think anyways. I haven't officially asked her yet!)

The fine print: Offer applies to newborn triplets only. Babies must arrive between April 1st 2013 - April 1st 2014. Session needs to take place within a reasonable amount of time following birth. The first parents to inquire and confirm will receive the session.

Leading up to this maternity session I had been envisioning a warm spring day, some green grass beginning to sprout up, birds singing... you get the picture. Instead, we ended up with a dark cloudy afternoon and a snowstorm!

We made the best of the weather by working mostly in the studio but still ventured out into the cold for a few quick shots.
I like the idea of being able to remember the silly little details in life; such as "the strange spring weather the month before you were born." :)
